Athletics

This week we had athletics. On Tuesday I did the 1500m I came second and Joel came first.
Then on Thursday I did the 800m I came second again and Joel came first again. Today we had the throwing, jumping and sprints. First I had sprints, I was in the best heat so I came 5th. Then we had the break and Caleb and Dontaey gave me juicies. We then had high jump but I didn't get put forward for that because I cant jump very high. Next up is long jump I surprisingly got 3rd with a length of 3.9m. Discus was next I came third but I only came 3rd by 3 millimetres after Caleb Belcher. 200m is my favourite so I was looking forward to it the whole day was put in the best heat again, I ended up coming 3rd.

Halloween Writing

Halloween

This Halloween I went to Caleb's house. First, we watched a movie and then we got bored so we started to get in our costumes I was wearing an anonymous mask with a black hoodie. Caleb was wearing a Zombie mask with a black hoodie. Joel was wearing a hilarious wrestler mask and a t-shirt with the sleeves cut out. Raghu had a huge dog head which I thought was really cool. We were all ready to go we jumped on our scooters and started to go.      

We went to our first house they weren't home strangely because their cars were outside and there windows were open. “We should just go to Russell Robertson because that's where everyone is,” I shouted. So we all started scootering down the hill to TeMata road. We are almost at Russell Robertson when we realise we haven't seen any cars or people which is strange because this is normally a busy road.

We go to a house no one answers so we decided to split up and try to find houses that will actually give us stuff. I go with Joel and Caleb goes with Charlie and Raghu.

I and Joel start going from house to house we still couldn't find anyone. All of a sudden we hear a scream come from a nearby house me and Joel sprinted over as fast as we could. We get to wear the scream was and we couldn't see anything apart from one house we shout is anyone there. We hear a mumbling sound but we’re not sure where it's from so we knock on the door. This guy comes out looking suspicious so Joel asks him “Did you hear that scream?”

“What scream?” the man responds.

We close the door and look in the window, we see Alex and Hugh tied up in rope with their mouths taped together. I and Joel didn’t know what to do so Joel just called the police but the guy saw us. He started chasing after us we got on our scooters and went to where we saw Caleb last, they weren't there we started to search for them. We could see the guy coming after us we run to a house and slam the door. We lock all the doors and then we realised that he wasn’t chasing after us. I and Joel lock ourselves in the bathroom and hold the windows shut we wait about half an hour and then we peek I realise that the window has been smashed, where could he be?        

New learning

This week I learnt about the different types of triangles at extension maths like equilateral, scalene and isosceles. Equilateral triangles have equals sides and angles. Scalene has all different angles and lengths. Isosceles triangles have two even sides. For P.E we have done shotput and I learnt that throwing is mostly in your legs otherwise it wouldn't get far at all. Hughs Dad came in and taught us about forensic and taught us how they catch criminals. At the forensic science, we learnt about how blood and saliva is a good way to get DNA.
       

New Learning

This week I have learnt about my goals and what I need to improve on in writing. On Wednesday loa shi taught us how to make dumplings they were very nice. We were also trying to pick stuff up with chopsticks and I wasn't very good at it At extension maths, we have been revising all of our learning we have done through the year. Our inquiry is explaining the unexplained so we were watching The Myth Busters and they were very interesting. One of the Myth Busters taught me that a book can stop a weak bullet from hitting you. I have learnt also that William is the best at long jump. 

New Learning

This week I am doing a lot of work on my speeches. My speech is about gaming and I have learned that gaming is not all bad for you it can improve lots of things like co ordination and eye sight. Me, William, Alex and Louie finished our friendship rap and we were going to sare it in house assembly but Alex was embarrassed so we didn't share it. At extension maths, we are learning about decimals and fractions.

New Learning

Week 5
This week I have learned a lot about Healthy bodies strong minds and stuff like that. We are doing speeches about healthy bodies strong minds. I'm doing mine on gaming so I need to persuade people to think that gaming is good for you. We are also doing passion projects and I'm doing mine with William and Louie about Clash Royale. We are doing fractions at extension maths and next week we are doing decimals. We had the cross country on Tuesday I came 3rd for year 7 boys. I also had netball finals and our team won out of division 2. For healthy bodies, we are learning about kilojoules and how many are in each type of foods.

New Learning

This week I learnt about coordinates at extension maths, The main things were that the Y axis is vertical and the X is horizontal. At science tech, we learnt how heat rises and that when you put a cold coloured ice block it goes down and then in 5 minutes it spreads around the whole thing. We have been doing lots of cross country training so I think that I have been getting fitter. We learnt how to greet people and countries in Mandarin.

Why is the sky blue

The sky is blue because molecules in the air spread blue light from the sun more than they spread red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been spread out and away from the line of sight. Holiday

In the holidays I went to England I was there for 5 weeks. I went there because my nanny or my mum's mum flew us out for my mums 40th birthday. The main things we did was Legoland and centre parks which are basically holiday parks. We also went to Peppa Pig World for my little sister because she loves Peppa Pig. The things I learned about England is that they are very strict about manners. There is also a lot of cars and people. My favourite thing I did was this amusement park called PaultonsPark.

Weekly Post

This week I am doing a statistical investigation about Youtube.
We are doing lots of work on our inventions and Inquiry.
Lots of people are doing the Elsie Locke writing competition and The Maggi cooking competition from our class. I am the judge for our class dance competition that is on today. 

NYLD

NYLD was fun I learned heaps.
My favourite people were the beatboxer the singers and the hair cut person.
what I took away from it was never give up and everyone starts from a little seed and grows into a tree. I had a fun time with  Jack, Cameron and Vinnie.
I ate heaps of chips and I saw some of my friends from Hereworth.

New Learning

This week I am learning about my writing goal and adding detail to my writing.
I learnt about fidget spinners like what they are made of and why they spin so fast.
I learned about the full license stuff in class and how the system works.
I learned about statistics at extension maths.

Electronics

In an emergency, we can be without electricity. The get ready get thru website says we need a torch and spare batteries. At Electronics class I am going to design and make an Emergency light for myself.

I learnt some new sign language. I have learnt to sign other people's names. I also learnt how to say my favourite colour is orange in sign.
I also learnt a lot about ww1 and ww2. like who started the wars.
I've learnt about how to do fat manus for my inquiry. I don't want to go through the physics but I learnt about it. At drums, I learnt how to play to music.
At P.E I learnt how to play Ki o Rahi
I learnt a lot about musicians at music for the presentation.
I learnt everyone's middle names.

New Learning

I have learnt about how sir Edmund Hillary showed our school values while he was climbing mt Everest. I learnt about pi at extension maths. I also learnt about diameter volume and circumference at extension maths. I learnt about Prezi when we were doing the sir Edmund Hillary presentation.

This week I have learned how to get the perimeter of a triangle at extension maths. I learnt that Sir Edmund Hillary had a child and a lot more about him. In writing I know I need to work on adding details and show not tell.

Today I learnt all the maori words for vegetables. I learnt about factors they are the 2 numbers that you times to get the product I also learnt multiples at extension maths. I learnt that the blue whale is sooooo heavy. I need to work on adding detail. I learnt the school song lyrics and actions.

I learnt measurement at extension maths and now I understand how to move the decimal point back three to make a millimetre to a centimetre. I learnt equivalent fractions for homework. I learnt how to add detail to my writing. The class rules with the 3 strike the first strike is a warning the second one you get an X the third on you gets another X then you need to call your parent saying what you did.

Then the last one you need to move class for an agreed time.I learnt a lot of sign language so I can't wait to learn more now.
